Working From A Bedroom To Building An $80k ARR Content Agency, fazinflo.com

Over 100 recurring clients in the last 3 years, on the back of cold outreach.

It’s October 1st, 2021.

I had just started my marketing agency after deciding to leave college in my first year itself.

I didn’t tell my parents that I had ditched my college before the final exams. Without them knowing, I started this marketing agency.

Named “Fortune & Fame Media”.

At that time, I was doing social media marketing. I was helping local businesses in my small town with shoots, edits, and managing their social media.

At that time I just wanted money not because I was obsessed with it but to prove myself that this would work and I was not fucking stupid to leave my college.

So I started looking for businesses that might need social media marketing.

And I found one.

That was my first-ever client of my life.

It was a clothing rental business.

But the question was: Umm…do they really need this service, or was it just my assumption?

So I found their contact number from Google Maps.

And I literally just dialed the number, cold-called them without any pitch, experience, or skills.

And I said:

“Hey, I’m Ronnii.k from Fortune & Fame Media. I saw your rental store and was curious if you’re doing social media marketing?”

They said, “No, we don’t.” [cold voice]

Then I said:

“Oh, actually, we’re helping small businesses grow through social media marketing, where we shoot, edit, and post videos to grow your customer base and let your brand be known in the market.”

He said, “Can we meet at my store?”

I just said, “Okay, cool.”

And I had no idea what was going on.

I just said and did whatever came into my mind.

The next step was to not go empty-handed, but go with a pitch or an offer.

So I crafted one, and we met.

I explained everything to him, what we do and how we do things.

And I also had a small team of my friends from college who were working with me.

He liked the plan and said sounds interesting let’s do it!

We had a deal of ₹5,000 per month for a 3-month plan.

The initial price was ₹10,000 per month, but I offered him a 50% discount if he took the 3-month plan.

LOL.

The initial terms were an upfront payment of ₹15,000.

But he didn’t pay the ₹15,000.

Instead, that day, we walked out with ₹5,000 as an upfront payment.

He said he would pay the remaining amount after 30 days.

We agreed.

And here’s the photo of my first payment.

That day, even though I got only ₹5,000, I felt out of this world.

my motivation went 1,000X.

On my way home, only one thing kept coming up in my mind:

Holyy Shiiii This is possible.

This is possible.

This is fucking possible.

I didn’t even know what I was doing or how I got through a ₹5,000 upfront payment without any degree, experience, or even skills.

LOL.

That was my first-ever client.

After that, I got around 6 clients from outreaching in total from my small town, which was just 5 KM in radius.

I was at ₹90,000 in the first 60 days of my business. I was like Holy motherfu’kin shiit 90k!!! Is this real? the amount would sound small to you right now but how would you react if you were 17 with no degree no experience no skills still holding a person’s 6 months of paycheck in your hand.

In those 2 months, I realized:

You don’t need fancy degrees or certificates to earn money.

You just need crazy confidence that you can help someone with something, for which, in return, you get money.

Value = Money.

Fast forward to late 2023.

I was still working with some local clients and had also moved to another city, trying to expand.

But I didn’t know I was going to hit rock bottom soon.

As I moved into another city, I lost all my clients from my old town.

I was back to ₹0.

I had also spent my whole savings on things I didn’t need, just because I felt very rich but I wasn’t.

And now I was on my own.

I had bills to pay.

Rent.

Food.

Travel.

Subscriptions.

EMIs.

I was reaching out to businesses in that city to offer services, but it wasn’t working the way I thought it would.

I thought I would do the same thing I did in my town and expand the business.

But reality is different from assumptions.

I didn’t know this, I was a kid.

I literally had no money left in my name.

Then I thought:

“What’s the fastest way to get clients this month without reaching out to anyone physically and without going to shoots on-site?”

But firstly let’s ditch video shooting services.

And the question was, What could I offer that didn’t need shoots?

So I started crafting another plan.

I started looking at what resources I had.

I had a subscription to a website builder, Hostinger, which I bought from a client who was a real estate agent.

I had built a website for him because he needed one.

He paid an invoice of ₹24,000 at that time.

From that, I spent ₹4,000 on a subscription to that website builder.

That story is also crazy.

I signed him by cold calling & I had no idea how to build websites.

Nor did I have a subscription to a website builder.

I took the money, bought the subscription from the client’s payment, and then somehow built the website.

LOL.

Back to the present story.

I had the subscription, which allowed me to build 100 websites in total.

So I thought:

“Okay, this is what we can sell quickly!”

But to whom?

Probably someone who wanted it quickly and just needed it to display their work.

I researched niches and industries.

Then I found out we could target wedding photographers.

But how do I find them?

The best way was through Instagram profiles because I could probably find out if they had a website or not.

Cool.

So I found around 100 people.

But how would I reach out to them?

They probably wouldn’t reply to cold DMs.

Then I noticed they had also put their phone numbers in their Instagram profiles.

So “Let’s cold-call them.”

I started pitching an offer where we would build websites and also provide social media marketing for free, only edits and management.

I started cold-calling 20 people a day.

And within a week, I signed 2 clients.

The first client landed at ₹15,000.

The second one landed at ₹20,000.

In that single month, I had 5 clients and made ₹75,000 just by cold-calling people.

Fast forward to the end of 2023.

Things were going well.

But then again, my revenue went down just because I wasn’t doing enough outreach.

My income was stable but not growing.

I wasn’t able to bear the cost of living in that city.

There were a lot of expenses and a lot of distractions as well.

So I shifted back to my town by September 2024.

I started figuring out new things because I was unable to get new clients for my current service.

And I was sick of serving Indian clients because they paid less and expectations were very high.

I was burning my time and energy.

So I wanted to work with international clients because I knew they paid better.

I started figuring out how and what we could offer them.

The only answer I found was social media marketing.

So I started cold-outreaching international people on Instagram who created content but weren’t that great at it.

They were posting consistently, but they weren’t getting views.

My first client was from the Netherlands, it was a couple

They had a page where they sold digital products.

I was helping them plan, create, and post content.

Guess how much they paid?

$120 out of $300.

It was my first-ever international payment but i didn't even had payment gateway to take cross border payments

So i needed to take on my friend's paypal which took 11 days to be withdraw from his account

Withdrawn payment my friend sent me. 

And it was also proof that it works.

After that one client, I had a lot more people interested but was unable to close any of them.

I was still at just 1 client paying $300 per month.

I was stuck.

But in early 2025, one story reply got me a client worth $1,000/month+.

He needed edits very urgently for his client.

I charged him $100 for a single video and got it edited from a freelance editor for ₹2,000.

₹6,000 profit.

PASSIVE INCOME LOLLL.

Then, in later months, he was paying $300–$500 per month consistently and also made me as head of content for his company .

Later then he referred me to his friend, and I signed him on $300/month too.

Holy moly I was on $800 per month recurring. [Felt rich but I wasn’t]

Later on, I figured out how to build the agency models because offering editing only wouldn’t work.

Then I outreached more and more people, mostly on Instagram and some through emails.

By the end of 2025, I was around $7,000–$9,000 recurring.

My most valuable client was an agency owner from PH who brought me clients worth $2,500 per month.

40% of my revenue was from him.

One partnership turned out to be very valuable.

Later on, I moved back to the city which I had left and bought an office.

The team grew to 45+ members.

I built more agency models.

I outreached more and more people.

And I was getting clients on a recurring basis consistently every month.

I Realized: People spend thousands of dollars on ads and marketing but barely sign any clients and hit rock bottom.

I built my whole agency by outreaching strangers.

Till date, my client acquisition cost has been $0.

But my returns have been 500X–1,000X.

Now, I’m not saying that ads or spending money on marketing won’t bring you clients.

It really helps a lot when you want to scale your business to million a month.

But you need capital.

Without capital, it’s not possible.

And probably most people burn all of their money thinking they’ll get some clients by running ads.

It’s great when you already have enough funds and you won’t care if you lose them.

But it’s not so great when you have limited funds and you’re just starting out.

Cold outreach is the best when you start because you literally need $0 to start.

You just need a good, valuable service/product and the ability to sell and observe the signals of demand. That was my story, and now it’s time to build yours.
